Locum Pharmacy Registration Guide

In order to book locum shifts through Clarity Locums, you will need to make sure you have completed the necessary registration with each pharmacy you intend to work for, in order to get paid. We have set out these documents in a checklist below.


For working in Rowlands Pharmacies, you will need to review and complete the following documents:

  • Summary Care Records
  • PI Insurance
  • DBS
  • DMS
  • Flu (If you have it)
  • Bridging Contraception (Scotland Only)
  • Pharmacy First (Scotland Only)
  • PVG (Scotland Only)
  • CAS – Common Ailment Service (Wales Only, if you have it)

For working in Boots Pharmacies, you will need to complete the following:

Step 1: Complete your Registration
Boots require you to accept the terms of their locum agreement and provide them with the most up to date information about yourself on your profile. To do this please complete the following actions:

  • Head to the following link:
  • Click on the ‘Received an Invite’ button. This will take you through to the registration process.
  • Click on the ‘Register Now’ button. You will be prompted for your GPhC registration number. Once inputted, the system will recognise your number. You will then be prompted for a valid email address. Once you have supplied this information a password will then be sent to your email address.
  • Upon receiving your password, you will be prompted to go back into and click on the ‘Login’ button. Here you will be asked for your email address and the password that you have been issued with. The online registration form will then appear. Please complete and click on the ‘submit’ button to ensure all your information is saved in the system.


This registration form will capture key information from you and also provide you with a tick box so you can confirm your acceptance of the locum agreement.

The registration form will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. You must complete the registration process fully in one session, or it will not be saved. Therefore, please ensure you have the following information to hand as you will be required to provide this information when completing your registration:

  • your GPhC registration number and expiry date
  • your indemnity insurance details (name of provider, policy number and expiry date)
  • your Enhanced DBS Certificate details
  • your accreditation details

Once you have supplied this information, Boots will carry out the necessary checks and add you onto the list of locums who can provide locum services to Boots.

Step 2: Payment Set Up

In order to be set up for payment your full locum registration must first be completed above. Once you have done this, please then click on the link below to enter your payment information:

Please ensure you enter [email protected] in the box that says 'Agency Email Address' as we will need to fill in some details to complete the registration.

Following your submission of the above form you will receive an email from us to confirm your email address, please look out for this email in your inbox.

You will need an active smart card and you will need to be familiar with Pharmacy Manager.



You will need a Venloc account.
Once you receive the registration link from Venloc please follow the steps to complete your registration.

  • Inhaler Technique for health professionals (must be completed after 15/04/20)

  • HEE Infection Prevention and Control Level 2
  • Health Inequalities
  • Weight Management
  • Remote Consultation Skills

Wales Only:

  • NESA Accreditation (Wales Only)
  • NADEX Code (Wales Only)

Locum Dispenser:

  • NVQ 2 Certificate

England Only:

  • Antimicrobial stewardship
  • Infection and Prevention Control Level 1
  • Adult Obesity
  • Childhood Obesity
