Important Reminder: Upload Your 2024/2025 Medical Council Registration Certificate

At Clarity Locums, we are committed to ensuring that all our General Practitioners (GPs) meet the regulatory requirements necessary to provide the highest standard of care. As you know, all doctors practising medicine in Ireland must be registered with the Medical Council and are required to renew their registration on an annual basis. This is a crucial step in maintaining your professional standing and ensuring the trust of your patients and employers.

Annual Retention Process Deadline: 1st July 2024

If you are currently registered with the Medical Council, you will soon receive an email prompting you to complete the Annual Retention Process through your Online Doctors Portal. This email is part of a rolling process, so if you notice that a colleague has received their email before you, there is no need to worry. Emails are being sent out daily, and you will receive yours shortly.

Steps to Complete Your Registration Renewal

Check Your Email: Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from the Medical Council regarding the Annual Retention Process.
Access Your Online Doctors Portal: Follow the instructions in the email to log into your Online Doctors Portal.
Complete the Required Information: Fill out the necessary details and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Upload Your Registration Certificate: Make sure to upload your current registration certificate as part of the process.
Submit Before the Deadline: Ensure you complete and submit the process before the 1st July 2024 deadline.

Why This Matters

Maintaining your registration with the Medical Council is not just a regulatory requirement; it is also a vital part of your professional practice. Failure to renew your registration will result in your name being removed from the Medical Council Register, which means you will not be legally allowed to practise medicine in Ireland. This could have serious implications for your career and your ability to provide care to your patients.

Verification of Registration Status

Patients, employers, and colleagues can verify your registration status at any time by visiting the Medical Council’s webpage: Check the Register. This transparency helps maintain trust and ensures that everyone can be confident in the credentials of practising doctors.

Uploading Your Certificate to Clarity Locums

To streamline our verification process and ensure all our Locum GPs are compliant, please also upload your updated registration certificate to your Clarity Locums profile once you have completed the renewal process. This helps us maintain accurate records and provides assurance to our clients that all our practitioners are fully registered and in good standing with the Medical Council.

How to Upload Your Certificate

  1. Log into Your Clarity Locums Account: Access your profile through the Clarity Locums portal.
  2. Navigate to Document Upload Section: Find the section for uploading documents and certificates.
  3. Upload Your Registration Certificate: Select your updated Medical Council registration certificate and upload it.
  4. If you are having any difficulty in uploading your documents you can email them to [email protected]

We appreciate your attention to this matter and your cooperation in maintaining the high standards of professionalism that Clarity Locums is known for. If you have any questions or need assistance with the renewal or uploading process, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to excellence in patient care. Let's ensure we are all compliant and ready to provide the best possible service to our patients.
