Pharmacy Quality Scheme - Community Pharmacists

The Pharmacy Quality Scheme

Forming part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF), the Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) requires registered healthcare professionals, working in community pharmacy, to undertake training to support patients accessing community pharmacy and maximise patient outcomes.

If you are currently locuming in a community pharmacy setting, you may be asked to support with the completion of some of the activity elements of the PQS. This may include input into risk reviews and action plans, data collection, inhaler technique checks as part of an NMS consultation, pro-active conversations about weight management, GP referrals and delivery of Treating Your Infections reviews, which will support key patient interventions.

The table in PSNC Briefing 031/22: Pharmacy Quality Scheme – Summary of the training requirements for the 2022/23 Scheme details the validity periods and the dates in which the training and e-assessments must be completed within.
